CAT Syllabus
Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension, Data Interpretation, and Quantitative Aptitude are the three key areas covered in the CAT Syllabus. Vocabulary, grammar, passage reading, and other topics will be covered in the CAT Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension Syllabus. The CAT Data Interpretation & Logical Reasoning Syllabus, on the other hand, will cover topics like word puzzles, seating arrangements, and so on. Candidates will be judged on areas such as arithmetic, algebra, advanced mathematics, and so on in the CAT Quantitative Aptitude Syllabus.
Aspiring CAT exam applicants should be aware that the
CAT syllabus is neither prescribed nor publicized by the conducting IIM and
that the syllabus has not been updated in the last few years, therefore candidates
should look at prior years' patterns to get a notion of the CAT syllabus.

CAT Syllabus : Quantitative Aptitude
· The majority of the questions in the QA are
based on themes from the Mathematics syllabus up to class 10.
· There will be 27 MCQs and 7 non-MCQs in the
QA segment of the CAT Exam.
· This portion will evaluate a candidate's
mathematical knowledge by focusing on numerical questions.
· It's a speed, accuracy, and precision test.
·
Quants is a substantial
component, accounting for more than 40% of the questions asked.

· Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning
will be the emphasis of this section.
· DI will include both multiple-choice and
non-multiple-choice questions.
· Data Interpretation questions focus on a
candidate's ability to draw inferences from a piece of data.
· The LR portion assesses a candidate's
logical reasoning and its applicability to real-world circumstances.
· LR questions can be one-offs or part of a
group of four or more.

The VARC portion assesses a candidate's ability to
communicate and comprehend information.
·
The comprehension questions will assess the candidate's
ability to understand the meaning of a passage.
·
True/false assertions based on the passage, the Author's
point of view on the issues highlighted in the text, inference from the
passage, the passage's major theme, and its goal are all examples of questions
from the Reading Comprehension passage.
·
The RC section's questions shall be objective.
·
Non-MCQ questions will make up the majority of the Verbal
Ability questions.
·
The paper will contain 24 MCQs and 10 non-MCQs this year.
· Reading Comprehension accounts
for roughly 70% of VARC questions.
